Approval of last meeting’s minutes – APPROVED without objection


Alderman’s Report: Dan Guenther, 9th Ward

  • Today was voting day in the primary, next election APRIL 6th will actually be the one that chooses the alderman

  • Received approval for city to give out COVID vaccines at Walgreens

    • St. Louis Area Agency on Aging is now giving a phone number (314) 657-1499 to sign up if you do not have internet access – will sign them up and give them a ride to get the vaccine

  • Pedestrian fatality at Lemp and Arsenal on Saturday 2/27

    • Car came off the highway at a high speed, hit 2 people at 11:30pm and one was a fatality

    • Friday Dan is meeting with pedestrian traffic and safety contact for changes – maybe rumble strips on off ramp

  • Cherokee Street – medical cannabis – Cherokee has growing, processing (DeMenil) and dispensary Cherokee/Jefferson

    • Job fair Saturday March 13th – they are hiring for all 3 locations in the medical marijuana locations


Police Report: Officer Jazmon Garrett – was not able to make it


Treasurer’s Report/ COVID19 relief program: Liz Gerard – report will be uploaded to the website for review


Committee Reports:

  • Building Review Committee - Tim Mulligan (Chair)

    • Pestalozzi – new request – developer who has done a number of other projects will be doing a townhome project catercorner from Benton Park Café

    • Indiana projects asked the developer to go back to the drawing board

      1. Their projects did not fit into the historical nature of the neighborhood

    • Jefferson/Lynce large project is pending still hoping to break ground in 2021

  • Events Committee – Brittany Nelson (Chair)

    • Planning full schedule of socially distanced concerts in the park

  • Safety Committee - Barbara Vindiola (Chair)

    • If anyone is interested in joining the safety committee

    • Trying to reinstate block captains that can be the contact for each block to relay information

  • Marketing/Web/Social Media

    • If anyone knows of anyone who would like to become a member of BPNA

  • Parks Committee – Dan Guenther (Chair)

    • Alley/Parks spring cleaning – 55 ramps are covered in trash he will be asking for help to clean up those ramps from volunteers

  • Garden Committee - Bill Kranz (Chair)

    • If you want a box to garden in contact Bill

    • If interested in learning more about the cave recovery project contact Bill

  • Dog Park Committee - Nicole Poston (Chair)

    • Committee met last Saturday and they decided to keep the park closed for 2 weeks for the seeding, looking to reopen late April/Early May

    • Nicole will be stepping down from the President of the Dog Park role

    • There will be gardening days to keep up the park March 21st/April  (10am-2pm)
