What does the Benton Park Neighborhood association do for you?
Your neighborhood association is an all-volunteer group that puts on multiple concerts, events and advocates for you on a budget of about $20K a year. Every bit of support comes from neighbors like you — and it goes a long LONG way. If you want to support with your time as a volunteer, email us at volunteer@bentonpark.org
Or, become a monthly supporter to help us reach our goal of 50 more folks giving $25 a month. We put up $60k worth of events for about 1/5th the cost. That means that each $1 you give is going to be worth 5x as much!
We’ve got new leadership this year. Here are some of the new and exciting things we did in 2023.
Concerts in Benton Park spring and fall
Sunday afternoon concerts selling donated drinks and merch each month!
Our fall garden tour and concert - Tunes on Tap
Get to know neighbors, historic architecture and support 9 local musicians!
Trunk or Treat Halloween parade and costume contest
Supporting our kiddos, plus get to a fire truck!
Holiday party, Santa pictures and parade
Our biggest fundraising event with amazing raffles and a time to connect with friends!
Monthly meetings with the board and stl leadership
Regular meetings to facilitate communication with st. Louis City, our local law enforcement and get to know neighbors, and form committees on important issues
Communications Committee
Newsletter and mailing list of more than 900 neighbors, social media updates — Instagram and Facebook, plus a real person to say hi to at events, meetings and more *in real life* who can make communications tailored to what you want and need from your neighborhood
National Night Out and Neighborhood Safety Committee
Organizing the neighborhood block by block and bringing neighbors closer together!
Support for Breathe Better STL’s fight against “The Smell (not the brewery)”
We created an online form to support cleaner air for our neighborhood and support this organization. Results are currently submitted to the EPA!
Building Review Committee
We are your resource in this historic neighborhood! BPNA building review assists in reviewing your plans and providing letter of support and anything else you’d need.
Caves Committee
Not only do we get an update on our neighborhood’s caves (specifically the English Cave on Provenchere) every month, this committee is actively working with local scientists and experts to uncover the mysteries of all the neighborhoods caves
speed humps added
Traffic calming matters to our neighbors so it matters to us. We will continue to facilitate more improvements.
Benton Park Dog Park
Established in 2017, the BPDP fosters positive community engagement by providing a safe, fenced environment for owners and their dogs to exercise, socialize, and train
Logistics Committee
Bet you didn’t think about that huh? We handle insurance for our events and the dog park, as well as partner with local restaurants to make sure we have a liquor license and more for events!
Tangible Change committee
We work behind the scenes answering emails and responding to neighborhood issues and more sent to hello@bentonpark.org. Be on the lookout for our new committees next year about everything from trash to traffic calming to public art.
Beer donations and more!
Our event committee has amazing relationships with local breweries to bring the best beers to your events!
All made possible by neighbors like you :)
If you have the resources, we would love to stretch your dollar as far as it can go in service of this amazing neighborhood.
